February 24 2020, marked what would have been Richie’s 30th birthday. His birthday offers a time to reflect on a life well lived and a positive spirit that continues to shine years after his death.
Thirteen years after my younger brother's passing, I’m reminded of how he lived every day to the fullest - despite his physical limitations.
Whenever you would ask Richie how he was doing, he would respond positively and then ask how you were doing. It's this spirit that keeps his memory alive today: giving back to those in need through our Transplant Assistance Grants and College Scholarship Program, sponsoring more athletes at this summer's Transplant Games of America, and RSF's ongoing efforts to get more people to sign up to become an organ donor.
But we couldn’t celebrate Richie without your help. In honor of Richie’s 30th birthday, we raised over $3,000 to support our programs and initiatives. Thank you to all who donated and celebrated with us.
Here's to many more years of keeping Richie's spirit alive through positive and impactful work!
Passing the birthday spirit,
