#TeamRichie Takes on 13.1 Miles, Raised Over $6,500 to Promote Organ Donaiton

Five Competitors Participate in Rock n' Roll Brooklyn Half Marathon

On Saturday, October 10, #TeamRichie took on the inaugural Rock n' Roll Brooklyn Half Marathon in New York City.  Each team member ran 13.1 miles through beautiful Prospect Park and brought awareness to the mission of Richie's Spirit Foundation.

In exchange for entry into the competitive event, #TeamRichie runners raised over $6,500 and engaged hundreds with the RSF mission.

"I've never been a runner, but I saw this as an opportunity to challenge myself and to do something positive for others," said #TeamRichie member, Vanessa Fera.  Vanessa, a 35 year old middle school teacher from Brooklyn, NY, had never run more thantwo miles in her lifetime.  "Just like those going through an organ transplant, with hard work and toughness, you can do what you once thought to be impossible," she said.

RSF would like to thank our #TeamRichie runners Adam, Jordan, Josh, Meghan and Vanessa, and we invite you all to join the challenge with us again in 2016!  To make a donation in honor of #TeamRichie, please click here.
