Richie was a lover of all sports, but he was most passionate about basketball. He was so fond of the game that he organized his own weekly NBA tournament pool with his friends every basketball season!

In an effort to spread Richie’s love for basketball and to keep his memory alive, Richie’s Spirit Foundation hosts Hoopin’ It Up For Richie, a basketball tournament which raises awareness about organ donation while playing Richie’s favorite sport.

The 2012 tournament will take place on Saturday, March 3 in Austin, Texas.
